Tracey Toltl didn't like the woman who stared back at her from the mirror each day, so much so that she eventually stopped looking. Her mother struggled with diabetes, high blood pressure, and more, and Tracey knew she was headed in the same direction unless she took control of her health.
It was that, and the Curves TV commercial that motivated her to join. Before long, she was happy to see herself not only reflected in the mirror but also in the eyes of others.

"My fear of other people's judgments isolated me."
Fran Spivak filled her days dreaming "what if". What could her life be "if" she lost weight, "if" she wore normal-size clothes, "if" she could walk 10 feet without getting winded. Not long after stomach-stapling surgery, she found herself regaining and nearing 325 of her original 530 pounds. She thought she would have to take drastic action. Happily, Curves required only discipline induced by the wisdom, warmth, and camaraderie its program offered. In less than a year at Curves, Fran worked off more than 100 pounds. By becoming such a big loser, she's become an even bigger winner.

Testimonial:
The original photo was taken in February 2006, on holiday to celebrate my 40th birthday. This was holiday of a lifetime, which I really enjoyed except for one thing, MY WEIGHT.
On returning from holidays and seeing the photos I decided enough was enough I had to do something about it because no one else was going to it for me. It took until the middle of March before I found the motivation to get started, my health was suffering and I was struggling with the normal every day tasks and as far as buying clothes I had just given up.
I Joined Weight Watchers in the March and quickly settle in to their Points plan. By the June I had lost 11/2 stone. My friend was going to Curves and had been nagging me for a while to join I kept saying I need to lose more weight first, in the end I gave in and booked myself in for an induction. I was very cautious as my previous experiences of gyms, were not very good. I knew straight away that I was going to enjoy the Curves 30 minute work out, I joined there and then and haven't looked back since.
I still go to Weight Watchers once a week, which keeps my eating on track, and I average 4 times a week at Curves.
I have been this weight before but a couple of dress sizes bigger. My body shape has totally change and toned up.
I still have a long way to go to my target of 10 stone or size 12-14 which ever comes first but I am DETERMINED to get there.
